Tribute

It is with great sadness the family of Stuart David Palmer regrets to inform you that he passed away on August 20th, 2015 at Chilliwack General Hospital with his wife by his side, born in Vancouver December 12, 1934. Predeceased by his Mother, Annie Barnes, Step-Father Jack Barnes, and Father Eugene Palmer. He was also predeceased by his wife’s parents Charles and Bertha Wilkinson and Brother-in-law Roger Wilkinson. Survived by his loving Wife of 46 years Doreen Palmer, Daughters Jaqueline Palmer (Ken Zeeb) of Deroche, BC, Denise Palmer of Zelandia, SK; Step Children Deanna (George) Deans of Mission, BC, Vincent Stievenard (AB), Linda (Shawn) Dalman of Sooke, BC, Sister Florence (Norman) Howell & their 3 sons Ronald (Shelley) Howell, Harry Howell, Steve (Faye) Howell of Deroche BC, 12 Grandchildren, and 9 Great Grand Children. He also leaves many family members and close friends. Stuart spent most of his life logging on the BC Coast and in his later years worked in the shake & shingle mills in Ruskin, making many lifelong friends while working in the forestry industry. Stuart enjoyed fishing and hunting in his early years but since retiring has spent his years working in his gardens with his loving wife by his side at their home in Chilliwack. A Celebration of Stuart’s life will be held Saturday, September 19th – 1:00pm at the Leqamel Native Band Office, 43101 Leqamel Way, Deroche, BC (near the Nicomen trailer park east of Deroche). In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Stuart’s name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
