Tribute

Simeon W. Garriott passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord, on April 12th 2016, at the age of 88 years old. He was born in Calgary Alberta and grew up on the family farm near Strathmore, Alberta, moving to Calgary with his parents when they retired in the 1940’s.  In 1949, he joined the R.C.A.F. for nine years of service, stationed in Edmonton.  Simeon was responsible for packing parachutes and safety equipment. When Simeon left the service, he became a printer, later working at UBC Health Science Hospital in Vancouver for over 20 years. Upon retirement, he moved to the interior and enjoyed spending more time with his love of family, photography, writing and research as a family historian. He then moved back to White Rock/South Surrey area where he spent his remaining 7 years. Simeon W. is survived by a son, Simeon T. (Dorothy) and daughter Eleanor, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends throughout the country, whom he loved dearly. He is predeceased by his wife Mary (Mae) as well as his brothers and sisters. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 28th @ Evergreen Baptist Campus of Care Chapel, 1550 Oxford Street, White Rock, BC @ 2 PM. Grateful thanks to the staff at Evergreen Campus of Care and Suncreek Village as well as his doctors for their wonderful kindness and care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made directly to Evergreen Baptist Home Society Memorial Fund or to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation.
