Alder, Lawrence Austin
November 16, 1948 - January 19, 2018
Tribute
Lawrence was born in Victoria BC to Fred Alder and Alice Jacobs, both from farming families in Alberta and Saskatchewan respectively. Raised as an only child, Lawrence spent many fond summers on the farms with his cousins and nephews. He worked in the accounting field for most of his life, and spent the last 11 years loving his work with I.M.F.S. Lawrence’s spiritual foundation carried him throughout his life and through his peaceful passing.
Pre-deceased by his parents and much older siblings – Thomas, Jean, Ruby, Bruce and Ken. Survived by his loving wife Susan (Kinross), beloved nephews Keith (and Karen) Alder, Delbert (Bev), Fred (Verna), numerous great nieces and nephews, his many beloved Jacobs cousins, and by all of Susan’s family.
A big thank you for all the support from family, friends, neighbours, co-workers, and staff at both Surrey Memorial and Royal Columbian hospitals, and at Laurel Place Hospice.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. (date TBA)
