Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joni Tessier. She passed away painlessly and peacefully in the presence of her loving family. Joni leaves behind her beloved husband of 20 years; Bruno, daughters Alana (Kyle) and Jennifer (Kaiya), son-in-law Cameron (Rebecca) and grandson Jesse. She will also be lovingly remembered by her father, Kenneth, her brothers; Ken (Cathi), Ted (Nadine) and Tom (Anne), her father-in-law Charles, brothers-in-law Pierre (Valerie), Daniel (Anne-Marie), André (Beth) and sister-in-law Guylaine (Stéphane). She will also be dearly missed by her caring nieces and nephews; Jason, Brandon, Mitchell, Cody, Scott, Caitie, Christian, Simon, Marc, Philip, Paul, Alex, Eric, Vincent and Mariève. Mostly Joni will be remembered by countless friends, colleagues and acquaintances that she has touched through the years with her loving and caring personality. Our lives will forever be changed by her courage and her strength.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 25th at 1:00pm at Bakerview Celebration Centre, 34863 Cemetery Avenue in Mission. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Joni’s name may be made to the Christine Morrison Hospice, where she was so compassionately cared for in the last weeks of her life.

To Bruno, and to Joni’s family: Joni was a shining example of grace and courage. I will miss her terribly, as will all those who knew her. I’m unfortunately out of town on the day of her celebration, but I’ll be thinking of her, and you, and I’ll bake some blueberry muffins for the crew at Black Press in honour of her memory. Joni is my inspiration. When she and Ken offered raise money for and be part of the fundraising at CCC she was such a delight and through our back and forth she became my friend. We continued to exchange emails long after the work was done each one making me feel her strength and determination more and more. While we never had the chance to meet in person I will miss her and our connection.
She was truly a beautiful person inside and out and inspires me to be better and do more every day.
I am so sorry for your loss. She was such an extraordinary woman.
