Verna loved the farm life, milking, was one of her jobs and helping with the hay. Most of all she loved to ride her horse. She met her husband to be John L. Anderson (Jack) as he was known to his friends, and they were married on June 18, 1937. They continued to farm as a couple on farms where they hired themselves as live in help. They did that in the time of the great depression. Verna and Jack had their first child in 1938 second child came in 1939, the third came in 1940, and the fourth in 1943, fifth 1947, the sixth 1954. Verna’s life in the days of raising these children required knowledge and skills in sewing, baking, growing large vegetable gardens then canning and preserving. Verna was a created person so what she did always had a creative touch to it, everything was done well. Verna kept diaries of events in her daily life, always including the weather. She was an avid readied and collector of many things especially dolls rescuing and restoring them. Her garden was large and admired by many. Verna loved having company and visiting. Later in her life she attended the Kingdom Hall where she met many more new friends. She leaves a legacy of creativity, honesty, self-reliance, endurance, thriftiness, and the air of calm. Verna will always be sadly missed, and never forgotten.
