Plovie, Raymond Douglas

April 15, 1967 - April 2, 2016

Tribute

It is with the heaviest heart that I announce that the love of my life and soul mate Raymond Douglas Plovie was taken suddenly on Saturday April 2, 2016. Ray is survived by his wife Jodi, 2 sons Mitchell Lock (Cherie), Taylor Lock (Marion), mother Renate Plovie, Brother Rick (Samantha), Nephew Mackenzie, Niece Spencer, Father and Mother in law Walt & Jackie Halbauer as well as many extended family and friends but especially his “brother from another Mother” Dean Francis (Tammy) and nephews Darien & Dylan. Pre deceased by his father, Roger Plovie. Ray & Jodi along with their dog Ally enjoyed many outdoor adventures in their camper they fondly named “Precious”. They would sit by the fire in their lawn chairs pondering and planning their next adventure. Snappy Ray was a well loved Snap-on dealer for the past 22 years, with the last 15 years close to home in the Mission/Abbotsford area. Ray was very well liked and respected by both the company and his customers forming many friendships both professional and personal. Ray leaves very big shoes to fill. A celebration of life will take place on what would've been Ray's 49th birthday, Friday April 15th, 2016 at 3pm, doors open at 2:15 at the Best Western Plus Mission City Lodge, 32281 Lougheed Highway, Mission, BC. Casual attire welcomed. As this is a celebration of Ray's life, and in typical Ray Plovie style we will raise a glass for him with a cash bar and light snacks available immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Eva, Sanyc and I want to convey our deepest sympathies to Jodi, Mitchell and Taylor. In the short time that we knew Ray, he went out of his way to make us feel welcomed and part of his extended family. I still have a pair of Snap-On socks that he gave me for Christmas. May his memory and legacy continue to enrich your lives.

Our hearts are heavy in the news of Ray’s passing.
Our deepest condolences to Jody and the Plovie family.
We will really miss Ray at Allison Lake having fun on his boat and at the camp fires in the evenings. Although there may be an empty seat there from now on, Ray will always be with us. RIP Ray.

Ray was like a older brother to me when he first came into my life and taught me all the bad things that older brothers are supposed to do at that age. A couple of sleepless nights by my mom, but we will save those story’s for another day. Lots of great camping and fishing trips. You taught me a lot about the outdoors and for that I’m greatfull.. Too many good memories to write them all down. My only regret is that we lost touch over the past years and for that I’m sorry. You will be sadly missed. My condolences to Jodi and the rest of the family. RIP Ray.
