Tribute

A beautiful and mighty heart is now at rest.  Mervin passed away peacefully at age 47 years in the Palliative care unit of Vancouver General Hospital. Mervin will be remembered by his loving family, wife Frances, son Cody, stepson Justin, wife Lindsey, grandsons Levi and Easton, stepdaughter Shalon, stepdaughter Bronwyn, husband Jerrad and granddaughter Locklyn,stepdaughter Lucy, mother Irma, stepfather Larry, sister Tammie, husband Tim, nephew Kieran, uncle Barney, aunt Kathy, uncle Les, aunt Eleanor, uncle Stanley, uncle David, uncle Ronnie, aunt Doris, auntie Bev and uncle Leo, and many other family members and  friends.

 Mervin is predeceased by his father Mervin, uncle Lyle, stepbrother Mervin, stepsister Melissa and aunt Stella. 

Originally from Bowmanville Ontario some of Mervin’s most precious memories were those of his childhood in Prince Edward Island on the beaches in Summerside and at Shelter Valley campground in Ontario. 

Mervin was adored by his family, he was a devoted husband and a big brother to many. He was a hard working man taking on many tough and dangerous labouring positions. He was also a funny and engaging man who loved fishing, playing and working in the outdoors, he was a true Toronto Maple Leaf fan, and loved jiggin’ on the dance floor. His was an excellent cook and possessed an extensive knowledge and passion for gardening and landscaping.

 Mervin’s Celebration of Life memorial will be held at Bernard Elementary School library April 11, 2013 from 6pm – 8pm.
