Lafrentz, John

Tribute
John left us peacefully on June 3, 2012 at the age of 86. He now rests in the arms of his mother, Maude his father William, and is lovingly reunited with siblings Julius, Beatrice, Bill, Sparky, Carl,and Don whom all went before him. Born the “middle man ” of 11 children in Halbrite, Saskatchewan John moved west in 1942, joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served his country until 1944. He worked at Lafarge Concrete among friends until retiring in 1988. This armchair sportsman had a passion for televised sports especially baseball and hockey. John delighted in dinners with his family, outings to the casino, afternoons at bingo, old movies and old friends. He will be deeply missed by by his wife Mary, of 59 years; children, Jodie (Tom), Wayne (Karen), Shelley (Kerry) and Darlene (Sam); grandchildren Alex, Andrew, Robert, Ashley, Michael and Alisha; and many other relatives and friends. Flowers gratefully declined due to medical reasons. Thanks to all staff at Surrey Memorial Hospital ER and N41 respiratory ward for all their exceptional care. Special thanks to Suncreek Village staff for their loving care.
