Heinrichs (Martens), Dorothy

September 6, 1941 - March 13, 2014

Tribute

Dorothy Mae Heinrichs (Nee Martens) was born in Stuartburn, MB, on Sept. 6, 1941.  She was raised in a Christian home on a farm near Manitou MB.  At the age of 9, through listening to Back to the Bible Radio, she learned to put her trust in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior & Lord.  She was baptized in 1959 at the Alliance Church in Morden, MB.

While Dorothy took most of her high school training in Manitou, she completed her grade 12 at the Steinbach Bible Inst. in Steinbach, MB.  It was there that she met the man who would become her husband.  She married Randy 2 ½ years later on May 5, 1961.

From 1962-2005 Dorothy served with her husband in church planting and pastoral ministries in BC, SK, and MB.  In recent years, they served together in Visitation and Senior’s Homes Ministries.

Dorothy loved the Lord, and she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She went home to be with her Savior on Mar. 13 at 11:45.  She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Val (Mel) Latnie, one son, Vern (Sheena) Heinrichs, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  We look forward to the day we will meet again in glory.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, March 21 at Grace Church – 2087 McMillan Rd Abbotsford at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons.
